𝗕𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗠𝘆𝘁𝗵𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝘂𝗳𝗮𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 – 𝗜𝘁’𝘀 𝗔𝗹𝗹 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗦𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗙𝗮𝘂𝗹𝘁

𝗠𝘆𝘁𝗵: “If only Suppliers would send what we need when we need it Production would do just fine!”

𝗥𝗲𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆: At best Suppliers send what was ordered. They don’t know what you need, until maybe you have to phone them up and ask them to expedite it – by air.

𝗥𝗶𝘀𝗸: You have too much of what you don’t need and not enough of what you do need to ship that order.

It feels like Production is out of control – making what they can with what they’ve got while expediting shortages to finish it.

There’s a vicious cycle here. Supplier schedules get so messed up through constant changes from their customers they can’t even ship what you ordered on time.

Meanwhile, you make what you can with what you’ve got – and so on.

Does it really have to be that way?
